KNIGHT AND DAY gets moved up a week
The action flick KNIGHT AND DAY starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz is coming out a little earlier than previously planned. KNIGHT AND DAY's release date has moved from July 2nd 2010 to June 25th.
The reason for the minor change in KNIGHT AND DAY's schedule is to allow a bigger jump on the competition that is set to come out shortly after the film's premiere-- allowing the film more time at the theaters before competing against Christopher Nolan's INCEPTION (which seems a lock to be a box office beast) coming out on July 16th, as well as the Angelina Jolie espionage thriller SALT that will be released on July 23rd.
The motivation behind this move makes sense, if I had a film coming out this summer I would try to put as much separation from it and Nolan's INCEPTION as I could, while still coming out at a prime summer movie time, which late June is.
