LEGION director developing PSY-OPS
Scott Stewart, director of the upcoming biblical action flick LEGION and the vampire-themed PRIEST, is currently developing a film entitled PSY-OPS with screenwriter Gus Krieger. The film will feature the directorial debut of Stuart Maschwitz, a visual FX artist who worked on more huge action and sci-fi films than you can count on one hand, including BLADE RUNNER, RETURN OF THE JEDI, and IRON MAN.
PSY-OPS centers around a secret U.S. military outfit of psychological operatives who are trained to find their enemy’s deepest, darkest fears and use them against them. When the unit is sent out on a mission deep in the Amazon, they encounter something that even they can’t handle.
Bold Films, the production company behind the film, says that they hope to make PSY-OPS into a film that fits right up there with similar action sci-fi classics like PREDATOR and ALIENS. Visually, the film is said to hopefully resemble more current films of a military/spy genre, including BLACK HAWK DOWN and the BOURNE series.
