The official TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES website, which you can find HERE, has been releasing some interesting news concerning its franchise future (namely the planned live-action film).

They have released the list of names that will be gracing San Diego's Comic-Con: creator Kevin Eastman, Mirage Studios CEO Gary Richardson, director of the original TMNT movies Steve Barron, and producers Galen Walker and Scott Mednick. Also listed is a man (pictured above) named John Fusco ( writer - YOUNG GUNS, HIDALGO, THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM), with the included description, "writer of the new TMNT movie (slated for 2011)." So it looks like TMNT has a seasoned writer that knows a bit about martial arts (I pray he does better with this than FORBIDDEN KINGDOM). First Showing has also made the assumption that Steve Barron might be up for the director position, considering he is involved in the Comic-Con panel. I think it is a good possibility, though I think that that is nothing more than an educated guess. Regardless, the live-action TMNT film is shaping up, as is the much anticipated Comic-Con at San Diego.
