Louis Leterrier talks about how he would tackle THE AVENGERS
Yesterday we reported that Louis Leterrier was on a shortlist to direct the culmination of Marvel's latest effort, THE AVENGERS. Anyone who was worried about putting all these different characters and actors from various films together can rest easy, because Louis Leterrier has a plan.
You can check out Leterrier's plan after the jump!
"With 'Avengers' it would be a little different, because a lot of the cast would have been casted by different directors from other movies, but you can still bring everybody together," he added. "That's what we did that was great on 'Clash of the Titans' — for the first three weeks, we brought everybody into a room and we workshopped the movie."
This could be a really great way to get everyone on the same page, and work out any sort of issues mixing the characters together may add. Seems like quite a task, and it could be difficult. If they can get all the directors together, they could really turn the film into something special.
Leterrier also seems to have his focus on all the right things for the film too:
"It all starts with the ensemble... the cast," said Leterrier. "It's all about the cast. It's all about the characters. You have to find the way to enter the movie through the cast."
It's good to see that he realizes that the focus needs to be on the heroes uniting, and not necessarily on the action, or whatever super baddie they have lined up for them to face. THE AVENGERS planning and socializing has always been a very big part of the mythos anyway.
Once again, Marvel take note because Leterrier has the skill. What do you guys think?
