Mark Millar says there will be a KICK-ASS 2
The first KICK-ASS film does not even hit theaters until April 13th of next year, but that’s not stopping comic book writer/series creator Mark Millar from giving us the low down on the already planned sequel, simply yet effectively titled KICK-ASS 2.
Millar says that the proposed sequel, for which he already has a basic plot, will begin shooting within two years, possibly with or without director Matthew Vaughn. Another unknown factor deals with distribution. Now that Disney owns Marvel, will they produce the film or will Lionsgate, who just picked the first film up for distribution at Comic-Con? Still way too early to tell but important questions to ask none the less.
According to Millar, KICK-ASS pulls a BACK TO THE FUTURE 2, ending it with a teaser for KICK-ASS 2.
Millar is very confident in the first film, enough to be sure that there will be a second. “We don’t want to sound too cocky, but we know this is good,” Millar said. “It didn’t cost that much money to make. There will definitely be another one.”
