Marvel announces a new Punisher film is on the way, this time, from themselves
Marvel sure as hell knows how to work a crowd, don’t they?
They have just finished their panel at the 2010 Comic Con, and along with announcing Jeremy Renner and Mark Ruffalo as Hawkeye and The Hulk respectively, bringing the entire AVENGERS cast on stage, and showing some pretty well received footage from THOR and CAPTAIN AMERICA, they also happened to announce just what the future of one Frank Castle will be.
Check it out, after the jump.
According to President of Production, Kevin Feige, not only is The Punisher back under the banner of Marvel Studios, but there is movement within the company to “bring him into the fold shortly.” Nothing else was mentioned, but this is a fantastic tidbit of news out of what has become quite a busy little convention.
Personally, I love this news. For a character that hasn’t gotten a true film adaptation, at least not one that really makes good on what the character truly is about, there is no one better to do this than Marvel themselves. Hopefully we will hear a bit of news on this soon, as this is a franchise that I would love to really see take shape.
