Matthew Vaughn wants more superhero movies
Matthew Vaughn is beginning to garner some serious attention after footage from his comic book adaptation, KICK-ASS, received high praise when it was shown before a room full hungry Comic-Con eyes earlier this summer.
Vaughn seems to have one awesome comic-book movie in the can with KICK-ASS, and recently he was asked by MTV about what other comic-book characters he might like to bring to the big screen. What’s next for Matthew Vaughn might be another big screen comic-book adaptation. When asked about his future by MTV, Vaughn responded with:
“(I’d) love to do THE AVENGERS… and SUPERMAN…I think it would be great to reinvent SUPERMAN…I was desperate to do IRON MAN about 8 years ago, and everyone was like, IRON MAN, no one will go watch that…Cut to now, and it’s a huge hit…I grew up watching superhero films, so I want to make superhero films.”
Matthew Vaughn is one man to keep a close eye on. If his baby, KICK-ASS, soars as high as everyone wants it to, then we could very possibly be seeing his name attached to a high-profile franchise like THE AVENGERS or SUPERMAN.
