    Heard and Meester

I’m not going to say that I won’t be seeing COWGIRL BANDITS when it is released, because sometimes this gig as a film talk-abouter forces me to see things I have no interest in, like most recently COUPLES RETREAT. According to Production Weekly’s Twitter, Amber Heard and Leighton Meester will star in the film, which is being called “a young version of THELMA & LOUISE.”

The actresses will play two young women who abandon everything to go on a road trip across America.

Heard will appear alongside Johnny Depp in the upcoming film, THE RUM DIARY. Meester is one of the stars of The CW series “Gossip Girl” and currently has a hit song on the pop charts.

Jessica Manafort is attached to direct COWGIRL BANDITS. Manafort worked with Heard and Meester on REMEMBER THE DAZE (aka THE BEAUTIFUL ORDINARY), a film that sounds like a variation of Linklater’s DAZED & CONFUSED.

    • I fail to see how any false reporting was done by gordonandthewhale.com on this one. It's not possible to report on news (plotlines, etc.) before correct information is made available. Had they reported on assumptions, only then would there be a problem - this site never does that. This logline is correct and was correct the day it was posted. Perhaps the real problem here are uniformed readers. Everything goes, and intelligence be damned. Get it right, or don't comment.

Wow. You couldn't have gotten the logline more wrong on this one. This is the problem with uninformed bloggers, and the "new media" in general. Everything goes, and facts be damned.

Get it right, or don't print it.
    • At the time this article was published, this was the only information available for the film (from Production Weekly) - which you can see, is pretty much how everyone else wrote it (check out http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/news/a182294/h..., http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id..., http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2009/10...).

More details are now coming out about the plot, specifically the bank robbing element, which was not confirmed until October 17. This casting news came out on the 16th.

We, of course, apologize for any confusion that would make you think that we would ever intentionally publish something untrue. We break news as it comes out, and this is what came out on the 16th.
    • Curious. How did she get the logline wrong?
