Mel Gibson talks MAD MAX 4
With FURY ROAD, the fourth installment of MAD MAX, now confirmed, someone finally asked the original Max himself, Mel Gibson, his thoughts on the whole thing.
”I was just talking with George [Miller] the other day, he dropped me a line, so you kind of keep in touch with them and see what they’re up to,” said Gibson.
When asked if he had knew of any potential cameos or role reprisals, Gibson replied “Oh gosh, I don’t know what he’s [Miller's] up to.” Gibson went on to say ”Not with me, I don’t think, man, I’m a bit old and long in the tooth for that number,” adding “You need somebody who can get around a bit quicker.”
That “someone quicker” Gibson may be referring to is Tom Hardy (BRONSON, ROCK N’ ROLLA) who has been connected to the film, possibly taking over the role of “Mad” Max Rockatansky. Charlize Theron was also in negotiations to star in the film. Miller is set to direct and produce the film, which will begin production sometime next year.
On a side note, let’s hope that Mel is just being his regular sly self and there is a cameo in the works. If not, I may just say I don’t believe in heroes anymore.
