Michael Jackson scene cut from BRÜNO…for now
Yesterday, the news of Michael Jackson’s death stunned the nation. The Los Angeles premiere of BRÜNO was scheduled for last night, just a few hours after the information about Jackson’s death was learned. What is the connection between the two? Apparently, there is a scene BRÜNO when Sacha Baron Cohen (as Bruno) makes a few jokes about the pop icon to his sister, LaToya, during an interview, which ends with her storming out. Upon hearing the news about Michael Jackson’s passing, Universal decided to cut the scene from last night’s screening out of respect for Jackson’s family.
No official word has been made yet as to whether or not the scene will included in BRÜNO when it comes out July 10, but it is unlikely that the footage will be added back into the film.
