Morgan Spurlock to team up with Joss Whedon for Comic-Con documentary?
With "Dollhouse" meeting the fate of so many other great FOX shows, Joss Whedon has some free time. Luckily for geeks like me, it looks like he might be filling it with... well, geeks. A source for E! claims that Whedon is developing a Comic-Con documentary with Morgan Spurlock (SUPER SIZE ME).
There weren't many details offered on the project, which hasn't been officially announced by either Spurlock or Whedon. According to the source, "they want to follow people for about three months leading up to this year's Comic-Con, and then they want to film them there. They're looking at all types of people." That would mean that, with Comic-Con scheduled for the end of July, they have a couple of months to find an interesting cast.
I love the idea of this project. Joss Whedon is one of the most creative and talented figures we geeks have today. I hate that he keeps getting kicked in the gut every time he attempts to produce another great TV show and I'm glad he's branching out to other forms of storytelling.
As for Morgan Spurlock, his WHERE IN THE WORLD IS OSAMA BIN LADEN? film left a bad taste in my mouth, but I still think very highly of him, mostly because of his TV series "30 Days," which expands his idea from SUPER SIZE ME that 30 days of doing something might change your life. I can't wait to see what he and Whedon can do together.
