Mos Def recently signed on the play the legendary musician, Chuck Berry, in the currently in-production film entitled Cadillac Records. The film, written and directed by Darnell Martin, will tell the story of the 1950’s record label, Chess Records, which launched the careers of Chuck Berry, Muddy Waters, and Howlin’ Wolfe just to name a few. Adrien Brody will costar as Leonard Chess along with Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters, Beyonce Knowles as Etta James, and Gabrielle Union as Geneve Wade, the girlfriend of Muddy Waters. This sounds pretty promising, so keep your eye out for the trailer.
