MY FAIR LADY remake might have its director
Not too long ago there were rumors circulating that ATONEMENT director Joe Wright could be directing the MY FAIR LADY remake. Well, those rumors were crushed by Wright himself, and that’s where that story ends.
However, now another director’s name is being associated with the new MY FAIR LADY movie, and it appears to be more than just rumors. Variety is reporting that director John Madden is in talks for the MY FAIR LADY remake.
Madden already has a Best Picture on his resume with SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. He also directed the little-seen, but not bad, KILLSHOT, which came out earlier this year and is about a couple targeted by a hit man after seeing the killer on the job. Madden also directed CAPTAIN CORELLI’S MANDOLIN, PROOF, and MRS. BROWN. I have not seen PROOF or MRS. BROWN, but both have fresh ratings on Rotten Tomatoes.
Madden has some nice credentials, and does not seem like a bad choice for the MY FAIR LADY REMAKE, if he does end up officially signing up for the job.
