MY SON, MY SON gets very limited release
Werner Herzog’s MY SON, MY SON, WHAT HAVE YE DONE will see a very limited release come December 11, first playing at the IFC Center in New York with other cities to follow.
If you haven’t already done so, you should read Kate’s review of BAD LIEUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS, Herzog’s latest release, and rush to see it in the theater (if you can) on November 20th. I didn’t know what to expect from BAD LIEUTENANT, but I came away with a few good quotes and a lot of laughs. It was a beautiful train wreck, if ever there were such a thing.
It’s my best guess (or hope) that MY SON, MY SON will be more of the same. The trailer and the knowledge that it is the first non-Lynch directed release from David Lynch’s production company, Absurda, are all I need to get me into a seat at the theater.
The film is based on the true story of former University of San Diego student and aspiring actor Mark Yavorsky (portrayed by Michael Shannon) who, in the late 70s, killed his mother with an antique sword, while acting out the role of Orestes.
