    The Road little

The release of THE ROAD, the film adaptation of the post-apocalyptic Cormac McCarthy novel of the same name has been, dare I say it, a winding one. We got our first look at the film back in May 2008, with THIS production still. But rumors about delays started to abound, especially when it came to release date changes. After originally being slated for November 2008, the film was pushed to December of that year, then spring of 2009, until finally landing with a November 25, 2009 release date. Now that we’re inching closer to THE ROAD’s release date, a final poster has been released for the film.

This is actually the third official poster for the film, and it’s my least favorite of the bunch. My favorite is still the original teaser from way back in 2008. It’s interesting to see the progression between what’s featured on each poster, not only in terms of imagery, but who gets top billing on each of them (check out how Guy Pearce went from second billing to no billing at all).

Hit the jump to see the full new poster for THE ROAD, along with the two previous official posters, and the teaser image.
