New trailer for PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF
A second trailer has been released for the adventure fantasy movie PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS: THE LIGHTNING THIEF. The film has a strong CHRONICLES OF NARNIA and HARRY POTTER feel to it. This isn't surprising as, like the CHRONICLES OF NARNIA and the HARRY POTTER books, PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS is based on series of fantasy books for the younger demographic.
The similarities to the HARRY POTTER books are extra-amusing because THE LIGHTNING THIEF is directed by Chris Columbus, who directed the first two HARRY POTTER films. Also, Pierce Brosnan sounds like he is doing an impression of Richard Harris' version of Dumbledore in the film.
The PERCY JACKSON series is about a boy who enters his teen years, only to find out that he is actually the son of Poseidon. He then gets caught up in the world of gods and mystical creatures, which turn out to be real in Percy's universe.
