McDreamy. When I first heard that nickname, I assumed someone was using a fancy name for the Big Mac. But I guess women don’t get quite as turned on by a fast food burger patty as they do for a sexy doctor with, from what I am told, extremely capable hands.

Well, Patrick Dempsey (that’s his real name) has mastered the delicate balance of good looks and charm, allowing him to translate his talents from television to film with ease. Well, not exactly ease, as his last movie role was in MADE OF HONOR (yawn). Dempsey is looking for redemption with his next romantic comedy, VALENTINE’S DAY, and by the looks of the trailer, redemption is quite possible. But even if that film doesn’t work in making Dempsey the movie star he’d like to be, then I have a feeling this next project that he just signed on to will definitely do the trick.

Patrick Dempsey has just signed on to star in a heist comedy penned by the writing duo Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. Lucas and Moore have a knack for writing successful comedies, as their last film, THE HANGOVER, split sides nationwide. In the film, “Dempsey will play a man caught in the middle of two different robberies at the same bank who tries to protect a bank teller with whom he’s secretly in love.”

I had to read that short synopsis several times for it to make sense to me, but I believe I have a grasp on things. Dempsey will play the classic character in a wrong place at the wrong time. Oh, and of course there is the whole love story subplot running throughout. For what is a McDreamy project without some head-over-heels action?

Shooting on this untitled comedy is scheduled to begin in April.
