PET SEMATARY remake digs up a writer
The remake of PET SEMATARY has added a writer, and it definitely seems like it could have been much worse, at least it is a man who has previously worked in the horror genre. Matt Greenberg, who worked on the screenplays for 1408 and HALLOWEEN H2O, has been picked to the write the PET SEMATARY remake.
The original PET SEMATARY came out in 1989, and has to do with a man learning about a burial ground where the dead you bury there come back to life, but evil.
I'm sure there are many of you who aren't excited about this horror remake (myself included), as Hollywood seems to want to remake everything horror-- and usually with lame results. But hey, 1408 was decent, and it is cool that Greenberg has worked in horror and on a Stephen King story before (in case you didn't know PET SEMATARY and 1408 are both based on stories by Stephen King). King also wrote the screenplay for the original film.
We don't have to fear the worst anymore, we can now raise our expectations to "not unbelievably terrible" with Greenberg being hired. Yay!
