It is largely believed that DISTRICT 9 was something in the way of a gamechanger for sci-fi films in terms of the stories told and the way they are made. From its documentary style to its video game-esque action sequences, the film did wonders for the genre as a whole to an extent we have not yet come to realize. I do, however, believe we will begin to see those changes quite soon and I believe one of the first films to reflect this new take on the genre will be BATTLE: LOS ANGELES.

The film tells of an all-out gang-like war in the streets of L.A. But this war is not fought between humans, but rather between aliens and mankind. The story specifically centers around a Marine platoon as they attempt to fight off the impending invasion from the outer-worldly threat. Making up this group of soldiers is Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, and Michael Peña. Bridget Moynahan also stars in the film from director Jonathan Liebesman (THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE: THE BEGINING).

A few pictures from the set recently hit the web, including one of Eckhart all geared up and ready for battle and something that make big boom.
