Poster for THE ECLIPSE
I have a Pavlovian response to the name "Adian Quinn." You say "Aidan Quinn," and I'm there. So my mind is working overtime to get ready for Quinn's next film - THE ECLIPSE. The film is the latest by Irish writer/director Conor McPherson, and is his first film in nearly six years. Beyond Quinn, the cast also includes the criminally underrated Ciarán Hinds and the beautiful Danish actress Iben Hjejle (you might recognize her from CHERI or DEFIANCE). THE ECLIPSE is a bit ghost tale and a bit love story.
Today I've got the poster for THE ECLIPSE, and it's a beauty. Hit the jump to see the poster and the full synopsis for the film, which will tell you why this poster is such a damn nice fit for the story it represents!

THE ECLIPSE is about Michael Farr (Hinds), a widower "living in a misty Irish seaside town who is struggling to adjust to his new role as the sole caretaker of his two children. Still reeling from the death of his wife, he has been plagued by terrifying apparitions. When he volunteers at a local literary festival, he finds he finds himself drawn to Lena Morelle (Hjejle), an empathetic author of supernatural fiction. While Lena tries to help Michael with the mystery of his nightmarish visions, she must contend with problems of her own—she’s being jealously pursued by a self-obsessed novelist (Quinn), her one-time lover. As the three adults’ lives converge, the turbulence of the phantom world will soon have nothing on that of the living."
THE ECLIPSE will premiere on VOD, Amazon and XBOX Live February 26th, 2010 and opens in theatres March 26th, 2010.
