PREDATORS adds Danny Trejo to cast
Everybody's favorite MACHETE, Danny Trejo, continues to get cast in awesome projects - first MACHETE, then THE EXPENDABLES. Now Trejo can add another Robert Rodriquez-penned role to his repertoire - the reboot of the PREDATOR franchise, PREDATORS. Details on the film are pretty slim, but Latino Review has seen the script and confirms that Trejo will play the part of "Cuchillo." There have also been some rumors that Michael Jai White would star in the film, but there is nothing firm on that front yet.
Nimrod Antal (VACANCY, the upcoming ARMORED) is set to direct, from a script also penned by Michael Finch and Alex Litvak. The original PREDATOR came out in 1987 and featured Arnold Schwarzenegger being, dare I say it, his most badass ever. There have been three PREDATOR-based sequels, including PREDATOR 2 in 1990, and two ALIEN VS. PREDATOR flicks (both of which I find to be horrendously, hilariously bad, and have thus seen multiple times).
As it's currently classified as a "reboot," I am pretty excited to see Trejo machete-ing (ha ha) his way through jungle in order to kick alien butt. PREDATORS will make a trophy out of your skull when it hits theaters on July 7, 2010.
