Rachel McAdams not Black Cat in SPIDER-MAN 4
Get your tissues and hankies ready, boys, because I’ve got a bit of bad news. We will not be privileged enough to see Rachel McAdams don the black spandex and white hair as Black Cat, sexy friend/foe to Spidey, in SPIDER-MAN 4. At least that what McAdams herself had to say.
“That’s a total rumor, I have to say,” said McAdams. “I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, ‘I just heard you’re doing Spider-Man 4.’ And I said, ‘Really? No one told me! It’s not true.”
The character of Black Cat, aka Felicia Hardy, is a cat burglar and occasional crime fighter who originated in 1979 out of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN series. In some past story lines of SPIDER-MAN, Hardy was also known to be a romantic interest of the wall crawler. Hearing news of McAdams not in fact being cast as Black Cat, as previously rumored, is unfortunate, as she would be perrrfect in the role.
At this point, confirmed details on who Spidey will be going up against in the fourth film are unknown. Yet, this has not stopped the endless amounts a speculation that the web slinger will be fighting everyone from The Lizard to Morbius to John Wilkes Booth.
