Reynolds and Bateman starring in CHANGE-UP
Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman are going to star in a movie together (they both appeared SMOKIN’ ACES, but Bateman only had a minor role). The most accurate way to view this news is – as wonderful. The very funny Reynolds and Bateman will be playing the leads in the switch-comedy, CHANGE-UP.
CHANGE-UP is written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. The guys who wrote the hugely successful R-rated comedy THE HANGOVER, a film that funny is enough to deserve its success. Lucas and Moore also wrote GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST and worked on the screenplay for FOUR CHRISTMASES. But let’s focus on THE HANGOVER when we think about them because it is their most recent screenplay to be turned into a feature, and also I don’t want to lose any excitement for the idea of Reynolds and Bateman starring in a film together.
The CHANGE-UP is about an two best friends switching bodies; one is unmotivated and immature (Reynolds) and the other is practical with a family (Bateman). There is probably an obvious lesson in there about not being too selfish or too serious, and hopefully a lot of laughs thanks to Bateman and Reynolds.
THE CHANGE-UP has incredibly capable comedic leads, and is by the guys who already one extremely funny credit with THE HANGOVER (and that is how I am officially going to look at them until they give me a fresh reason not to) . Feel good about the potential of CHANGE-UP, feel good my friends.
