Ridley Scott has his eyes on Angelina Jolie for GUCCI
According to Variety, Ridley Scott is looking at Angelina Jolie to play the “femme fatale” in his upcoming film about the Gucci family, entitled GUCCI. Jolie would play the role of Patrizia Gucci, who was convicted of having a hit man kill her husband Maurizio Gucci when he was running the famous Gucci fashion company in 1995.
Hiring Jolie to play Patrizia sounds like a good move if it this does end up happening. It’s not hard to see Jolie as a cunning, deceptive woman playing those around her. Jolie vamping it up in a film directed by Ridley Scott definitely gets my interest.
No one is attached to play Maurizio yet, but Scott has approached Leonardo DiCaprio about the part – nothing more is known about that at the moment.
FOX 2000, the studio behind the project, wants shooting to start GUCCI sometime in 2010. Hopefully, this will happen and we will also get official casting announcements soon.
