RINGU director gets a VOICE FROM A STONE
Hideo Nakata is the man who directed RINGU, the Japanese film that THE RING is based on. He also directed the American sequel, THE RING TWO. Now Nakata is attached to direct the supernatural thriller VOICE FROM A STONE.
The project reminds me a lot of THE SIXTH SENSE, as VOICE FROM A STONE is about a “female child psychologist who takes on the case of a young boy who made a promise to his dying mother to remain silent until her spirit returns.” A child psychologist and a kid with a connection to spirits? Yeah, it’s not hard to see the similarities between VOICE FROM A STONE and THE SIXTH SENSE.
Even with a synopsis that almost reads exactly like the plot outline of THE SIXTH SENSE, I’m still excited for what seems to be another ghost story from the guy who made an awesome one with RINGU. THE RING TWO was not nearly as good, but oh well, we all make mistakes. Bring on VOICE FROM A STONE.
