Robin Williams is WEDDING BANNED
I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things about Robin Williams’ latest act, WORLD’S GREATEST DAD. I am so glad to hear that the zany actor still has what it takes to deliver a dynamic and memorable comedy. It looks like Williams is ready to continue with his comedic antics, while throwing in a splash of romance as well. According to The Hollywood Reporter, funny-man Robin Williams has signed on to star in Touchstone’s romantic comedy WEDDING BANNED.
The script has been written by Jack Amiel and Michael Begler, and the last time that duo took on an older comedic actor (Tim Allen) for their story, the result was the box office failure THE SHAGGY DOG. No sweat though, PINK PANTHER 2 writers Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber recently let everyone know that a bad first script means nothing with the success of their script for the indie hit (500) DAYS OF SUMMER.
WEDDING BANNED “centers on a long-divorced couple who kidnap their daughter on her wedding day to prevent her from making the same mistakes they did. The divorced parents rekindle their relationship as they elude cops and the angry groom.”
This story definitely has plenty of potential, especially with Robin Williams already attached. I’m very interested in who the filmmakers will round up to complete the cast. As soon as more news on WEDDING BANNED surfaces, we will make sure to to let you know.
