Ryan Reynolds talks GREEN LANTERN
Ryan Reynolds is the guy that women want to be with and men want to be. Those men more specifically being comic book nerds, as Reynolds has solidified his place in comic book movie superstardom by starring in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, BLADE: TRINITY, and of course slipping on the ring as Hal Jordan in the upcoming GREEN LANTERN film.
Reynolds has never been one to be shy in speaking up about his love of comic books, even being the one attempting to jump start a Deadpool film long before WOLVERINE. Reynolds recently opened up to MTV about what we can expect from the first GREEN LANTERN film.
“It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it’s not a labored origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act,” Reynolds said. “The movie starts when it starts. We find out Hal is the guy fairly early on, and the adventure begins.”
Reynolds also talked a little bit about his idea of seeing the hero in the suit versus seeing the man behind the hero. “I think you walk away from this first film, and the moments that you remember and the moments that mean so much to you, not unlike ‘Iron Man,’ are the moments where the guy’s not in the suit,”
In Reynolds’ case, it is likely when he is not in the suit, he will also not be in a shirt, as it seems to be in his contract that he show his abs off at least one time in every film.
