Sean Penn is feeling like a STOOGE again
Awhile back, we reported that Sean Penn had dropped out of the Farrelly brothers’ feature-length THREE STOOGES film, in which he was set to play Larry Fine. Then we reported that Paul Giamatti was set to take his place. Now, it looks like Sean Penn is back in.
Penn’s reason for originally pulling out of the film was reported as relating to family issues. Bobby Farrelly was quoted when talking about the subject, “we got him back. He always said he wanted to do it after, you know, taking care of his family.”
I’m not as against Sean Penn in this role as most people are, although I do think that Paul Giamatti is a better match for the role. Regardless, Penn has proven that he has the acting chops and I wouldn’t go doubting him anytime soon. I think it will be easier to judge this project when we get our first look at production stills or a teaser trailer.
