    Sherlock Holmes Trailer 2

There’s a new trailer out for Guy Ritchie’s SHERLOCK HOLMES. I think this film looks a bit cheesy, but nevertheless, I may go see it on Christmas Day just for the eye candy that is Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law.

I can’t see this film being anything more than what I’ve seen in the trailers, for some reason. We have Sherlock with his famous wit, gadgets, and pipe, but when did he become a scrappy, bare-knuckle brawler?  The Sherlock I remember used his brain to solve cases, not his fists. It’s been a while since I’ve read the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, so I could be wrong.

Instead of a suspenseful mystery story, this seems like it will be a typical blockbuster where the good guy kicks some ass, blows some shit up, and drops a a few clever one-liners along the way. I’m hoping that I’m wrong, because I believe in Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. I’m on the fence about Rachel McAdams. I haven’t seen a Guy Ritchie film since SNATCH, but I hear I haven’t been missing much. Maybe this is a return to form for the director, but at what cost?  The bastardization of one of the great literary figures?  I hope not.

Check out the trailer after the jump and let us know what you think!
