We’ve been talking about Disney’s 48th animated feature, THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG, for over a year. As Wilhem noted way back then, this latest princess tale marks Disney’s first animated film since 2004, a return to the traditional 2D animation that so many of us GATWers remember from our youth, and Disney’s first African American princess. As a loyal devotee of THE LITTLE MERMAID, I am thrilled to meet a new Disney princess. I imagine that the Barbie-toting masses feel the same way, too. We haven’t had a new princess since Mulan in 1998!

The film is set to be released on December 11, but Disney knows that some of us can’t wait that long. They are now offering a special offer for discounted tickets to exclusive screenings in Los Angeles and New York, November 25th to December 13th. To purchase tickets, you can go to THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG’s Facebook page, right HERE. Each ticket is good for one person, as well as access to the Ultimate Disney Experience, featuring all nine of the Disney princesses (Snow White, Cinderella, Princess Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, and Tiana) and fun and games for the whole family. Los Angeles ticket holders will also have access to Walt Disney studio tours.

THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG is a big style musical set in New Orleans during the Jazz Age, and plays around with the classic froggy prince tale (you know the one! He says he’s a prince, so kiss him and find out!). Disney has put its own spin on the fairy tale, and Princess Tiana’s first froggy kiss has some unexpected results, leading into an adventure of epic proportions, complete with the sort of fun characters you’ve come to expect from a Disney animated feature (my favorite is still Sebastian, I just love that crab).
