I went to the 3D presentation of TOY STORY and TOY STORY 2 last Friday at my local theater in Midland, TX (I was previously a 3D virgin). My wife and I were the only two adults in there without kids, but that didn’t bother me. When it comes to the brilliant animated TOY STORY franchise, I become a child again, and when the films began, I was immersed in one of my favorite film universes once again. The original films were spectacular on their own, but the addition of the 3D technology took the intricate and beautiful look of the films’ animation to another level. I would be extremely understating myself if I told you I was pumped for TOY STORY 3.

Though its not scheduled to premiere in theaters until June 18th, marketing is already working its magic. TOY STORY 3’s first posters are under way, in the form of character posters. I have the first two for you after the jump.

First, we have everyone’s favorite plastic dinosaur, Rex (voiced in the film by Wallace Shawn). He might have short arms, but with the help of his big mouth, he is still able to show off the big, shiny 3.

Hamm (voiced in the film by John Ratzenberger) doesn’t like anyone to look at him when his cork is out (who does?), but in this poster he wants all eyes on him. Again, the big, shiny 3 is boasted, thanks to Hamm’s handy dandy coin slot.

Disney Pixar is releasing the trailer for TOY STORY 3 online on Monday, October 12th at 9AM PST.
