While doing press for AVATAR, Sigourney Weaver may have let a few things out of the ghost trap when it came to plot details surrounding GHOSTBUSTERS 3.

Here’s what Weaver had to say about the rumored third ghost busting adventure. “I’m afraid to say it [GHOSTBUSTERS 3] is happening, I hope people are excited about that. I don’t know if I’m going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking ‘Would you read the script?’ “

READ ON FOR POTENTIAL PLOT SPOILERS.

The actress speculated about the plot of the film, saying “I know that my little son Oscar – who was kidnapped from me – I think he has grown up to be a ghostbuster.”

She also commented on her possible involvement, adding “I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don’t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it – he’s a ghost.”

What? The ghost of Bill Murray? Is this what is to be the actor’s fate after his untimely death in ZOMBIELAND? Which everyone knows was a sequel to SPACE JAM…SPACE JAM 2: ZOMBIELAND. Sorry, I like to pretend that all of Bill Murray’s films are connected.

Anywho, with multiple comments from Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis on the very unfinished, very early state of the script, I wouldn’t put much stock in these “plot details” from Weaver. There is one thing that is for sure however. Weaver is still a stone cold fox.

    But again…Venkman…as a ghost?
