Spike Lee just announced at Cannes that he will be shooting a full length movie about the life of Michael Jordan. The film will include “extensive unseen footage shot by NBA cameras during the final two years in Jordan’s career, the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons,” but I’m not sure if that means it will only focus on those last two years, or his entire career. I’m sure Spike knows to include a lot of his career highlights. The NBA will be financing the film, with Spike’s 40 Acres & a Mule Filmworks producing.
Spike Lee fans know that he’s a huge basketball fan with all of the NBA commercials he shot in the early 90s. With regarding the film, Mike, and next year’s Cannes, he said that he’s in high hopes on getting them both there for the festival.
