STAR TREK sequel said to start filming in January
We have to wait another 2 years for STAR TREK 2 before it hits theaters, which makes a 3 year gap between films. While that is better than the 4 year wait for BATMAN 3, its still along time especially when I am a huge fan of JJ Abram's reboot. I saw it 4 times in theaters and have seen it regularly since its DVD/Blu-ray release. Although the older films were great, they always had a certain campy quality. They were serious but never were taken too seriously, especially in STAR TREK: THE WRATH OF KHAN. So that being said what news do we have for you today?
Bruce Greenwood, (who played captain Christopher Pike) was at the DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS premiere where he plays the character Lance Fender. He spoke with Hollywood.com and had this to say about when the STAR TREK 2 would begin filming.
This is what he had to say
"I just know that the plan is to film it in January, more than that, I don't know"
When asked whether or not he would be returning as Captain Pike he said that he hopes to be involved, but we will just have to see. All this sounds vagu,e so this information is subject to change. Any piece of news on the STAR TREK sequel gets me excited, so lets hope that more is to come while we await the dreadfully long time when its released June 29 2012.
