Steve Guttenberg talks THREE MEN AND A BRIDE
Actor Steve Guttenberg refuses to “go gentle into that good night.” He hasn’t exactly been releasing the quantity or quality of movies that he did during the 80s, but he’s still hard at work. It was actually almost a year ago to the day that we first brought you word of THREE MEN AND A BRIDE.
Last November, in an interview, he revealed that “Tom Selleck, Ted Danson and I are looking to make another THREE MEN AND A BABY movie. It’s called THREE MEN AND A BRIDE. The script is pretty much written and we are really keen to get that made. We’re very hopeful.” We haven’t heard a peep about the movie until now.
I honestly thought the project was dead at this point, but Guttenberg insists that it has a pulse. This is what he told WENN:
“Disney’s developing THREE MEN AND A BRIDE. That’s going to be a smash. A smash hit. They’re bringing everybody back for that. Nobody knows about it. I’m the first to talk about it.”
The movie, of course, would be a sequel to the THREE MEN… movies that began in 1987. That would put the bride in her early 20s, opening up the casting possibilities to almost any current young Hollywood actress and I think that’s why Disney is interested in the first place.
Guttenberg also talked about other projects, saying that “It’s definitely time for another POLICE ACADEMY. And I think they could make another COCOON. They’re surefire hits and I think they’re good for the world. They make the world a better place and that’s what it’s all about.” This quote I’m taking a bit less seriously. Do we really need another POLICE ACADEMY movie? The franchise already consists of seven movies, some amazingly funny, but most pretty crappy. Let’s leave that one alone, Steve.
