The 21 JUMP STREET movie might have its director(s)
Phil Lord and Chris Miller directed the well-received CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, and now the two men could have their first non-animated, feature directing project, and it is a very intriguing one. According to Variety, Lord and Miller are currently in negotiations to direct the film adaptation of the TV show, “21 Jump Street.”
I feel pretty confident that most people, while watching CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS, didn’t think to themselves, “the directors of this need to be the guys to make the 21 JUMP STREET movie.” That doesn’t mean this would be a bad move, it’s just surprising. Both Phil Lord and Chris Miller worked as directors on the worth-trying-to-find-these-days animated TV series, “Clone High.” Miller also co-directed the disappointing SHREK THE THIRD, but I heard good things about CLOUDY (even though I haven’t seen it), and “Clone High” was awesome, so hopefully SHREK THE THIRD was just a misstep for a talented director.
Okay, “21 Jump Street” fans what do you think of this?
