the average american male

Synopsis:
the average american male tells the narration of a man (who remains nameless) in his late twenties whose favorite things to do are play WoW and broadcast his sexual fantasies, in great detail, throughout the day while trying to avoid his girlfriend, whom he hates.
Review:
I first heard about this book when I was surfin’ the ‘net and came across three videos on YouTube that introduced this book. In my favorite of the three (which you can watch here), the scene is set at a dinner table with a man, woman, their daughter, and her boyfriend. The scene carries with the mother and father asking the boyfriend when he is thinking about proposing to their daughter - since they have been dating for some time now. The film pauses and the catch phrase pops up, “Want to know what he’s really thinking?” and finishes the scene with the boyfriend telling mom and dad how it’s gonna be. This was brilliant marketing and it got my attention.
After seeing that, I immediately went to Barnes and Noble to pick up the book. There it was, right as I walked in, like I was meant to read it. While standing in line, I read a few pages to keep the elderly lady wanting to talk about calendars with me off my shoulder, and here is the beginning of what Chad Kultgen had instore for me:
“I’m in Denver International Airport watching this old fat bitch eat a cup of yogurt. My blood is boiling.
She has this weird little baby spoon, and these leathery fucking jowls, and this twitchy mouth, and her little tongue keeps jerking around to lick this shit off her lips-it’s really fucking disgusting me. But even more disgusting to me is the fact that her mouth has had cocks in it. I wonder what it is, other than age, that turns a mouth a man would want to put his cock in into a twitching hole getting yogurt shoveled into it with a baby spoon.”
I was immediately hooked and over the course of the day and a half it took me to read this, I learned three things:
1. I’m normal, other people think like me (pages 1- 246).
2. How to play “Be the King” (page 96).
3. It’s possible for a man to masturbate four times in one day (pages 13-16).
In conclusion, this is an easy read, fun book into the male mind. Let the whole, “Did he just say that? Oh no he di’n't!” thing go and read this.
