• The Bible to go 3D

The title of this post isn’t b.s. friends, the very word of God is set to get the 3D treatment.

According to Deadline Hollywood (via The Playlist), Walden media is teaming up with Paramount for a film called IN THE BEGINNING.  The film, which tells the story of Adam and Eve, will feature a $30 million budget, and will be directed by David Cunningham from a script by John Fusco.

I’m having a tough time deciding what’s less interesting; the idea of the film being in 3D, or just the very idea of this film existing.  I am not a religious person, but the story itself just doesn’t interest me too much.  The thing is going to make insane money, but, the idea of the Bible even being adapted into 3D just goes to show you that this gimmick is still just that. The film being as cheap as it is most likely will be up-converted into the 3D format, which from the looks of ALICE IN WONDERLAND, is of a much lesser visual quality than films shot in 3D.

    3. Is nothing sacred?

    4. (sorry, I couldn't resist)

    5. it could either be a really interesting film (like Passion of the Christ – minus the Hebrew hopefully) or very sacrilegious

    6. Now if this was an epic about the rise of the Jewish people, perhaps after leaving Egypt, it'd be pretty cool and maybe even interesting. But as a religious person, I can only imagine them ruining this and giving people further misconceptions about the Bible.

How I imagine Hollywood portraying it:
“ooo! Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift as Adam and Eve! It's a must see!”
