THE GREEN HORNET finally gets its Kato
Nerds, rejoice! Months after Stephen Chow dropped out of acting as Kato and directing Seth Rogen's GREEN HORNET, and after an exhaustive search for a suitable actor for the role, we finally have our Kato. JAY CHOU - you ARE Kato! Wait, Chou, Chou are you (yes, you need to sing it in the tune of The Who song, sorry)?
Let's find out! Jay Chou is -
1. Taiwanese (first criteria - be Asian - met)
2. An actor (second criteria - be actor - met)
3. A singer (he's a huge music star in Asia - built-in fanbase!)
4. Director Michel Gondry says Jay is "incredibly unique and charming and fights like a wild dog!" (scrappy!)
5. He supposedly has great chemistry with Rogen (hot?)
6. He's directed his own film, SECRET (multi-talented!)
The Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg-penned THE GREEN HORNET is set to hit theaters on July 9, 2010.
Do you guys dig this casting? Was it worth the wait?
