THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE and more in this week’s DVD, Blu-ray, and TV on DVD new releases
This week brings us the release of more than a few great titles from the summer, including the most recent installment of the HARRY POTTER series, THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE, and Michael Mann's (HEAT) latest, PUBLIC ENEMIES starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale. Also hitting the shelves are some of this year's best indies, including the more-than-dark comedy WORLD'S GREATEST DAD starring Robin Williams and JULIE & JULIA starring Amy Adams and Meryl Streep. And for all you "Lost" fans, we finally get the release of the epic Season 5, along with a nifty Dharma Initiative Orientation gift set which includes a VHS, floppy discs, dossiers, and other cool Dharma-themed goodies. Speaking of nifty gift sets, there are one or two hitting shelves this week just in time for the holidays, including a 6 film HARRY POTTER collection, a CORALINE gift set, a "Lost": Seasons 1-5 gift set, and a Criterion Collection featuring 25 films from renowned director Akira Kurosawa.

Definitely the award-winning documentary THE COVE. In this moving and disturbing film, a ragtag group of filmmakers, specialists, and dolphin experts infiltrate a small fishing village in Japan, where dolphins are slaughtered in a horrific, genocidal way. It's BOURNE IDENTITY in the blue ocean. A prime example of how film can be used as a weapon for change. This is hard to view but a must-see for sure.
