THE LOVELY BONES gets new international poster
There’s a new international poster for THE LOVELY BONES, which will see a limited release this week. The poster shows an ethereal-looking Saoirse Ronan floating head in the sunset over a silhouette of a young girl running through a beautiful field. The poster doesn’t hint at the tragedy at the heart of the film, but it does suggest that there is an otherworldly/afterlife storyline.

Directed by Peter Jackson, THE LOVELY BONES is an adaptation of the book of the same name by Alice Sebold. The film stars Ronan as Susie Salmon, a teenage girl who is raped and murdered by her neighbor, played by a very creepy-looking Stanley Tucci. After her death, she watches over her family as they cope with her death from a sort of limbo, somewhere between heaven and Earth. Mark Wahlberg and Rachel Weisz play Susie’s parents, while Susan Sarandon plays her grandmother. Susie’s sister, played by Rose McIver, is suspicious of the neighbor and sneaks into his house to find evidence that he is the one who committed the crime.
THE LOVELY BONES gets a limited release on December 11th, going wide on January 15th.
