It's a cool idea getting to watch a film before it "officially" hits stores but with that kind of price...only a month before? Is there REALLY a person in the world who could honestly say their life couldn't go on for another month without Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs?!?!? And while this is a stupid decision on Sony's part, why should theaters be angry about this? Sounds like they'll be having too many sellouts for Avatar and Sherlock Holmes by the truckload to care about a three month old product.
