    A Prohpet

Thanks to Apple, we have a new trailer available for France’s Official Entry for the Best Foreign Language film Oscar, A PROPHET (UN PROPHETE). Not only is the film France’s hope for the Oscar, but it was also awarded the Best Foreign Language Film by National Board of Review, and won the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes. The film’s got a lot of acclaim.

    IMDb
offers the brief plot outline for A PROPHET as “A young Arab man is sent to a French prison where he becomes a mafia kingpin.” However, I’m sure it is more complex than that (yes, I was thinking about Jim Breuer in HALF BAKED when I wrote that). And that is how you work HALF BAKED into a post about A PROPHET.

You can watch the trailer by clicking HERE. The film will also be at the upcoming Sundance Film Festival, but I couldn’t find when it be released theatrically in the U.S.
