    Bunny and the Bull

We may be a little upset with the other side of the pond for taking away our fearless leader Chase Whale. We’ll eventually get over it when Chase returns later this week (follow his journey on Twitter!), but The Times UK has released an exclusive full trailer for BUNNY AND THE BULL to distract us until that happens.

BUNNY AND THE BULL is the first film from the director of “The Mighty Boosh,” Paul King, and stars Edward Hogg, Simon Farnaby, and Veronica Echegui. The Boosh’s two most recognizable faces, Barratt and Noel Fielding, also have a hand in this one, as well as Richard Ayoade of “The IT Crowd.”

BUNNY AND THE BULL is the fantasy travel story of Stephen Turnbull, a shut-in who refuses to leave his flat. His life is conducted on a restrictive schedule that doesn’t allow him to interact with the outside world or dwell on his past. An infestation of mice threatens to change his routine and he finds himself remembering a trip through Europe he took with his drunkard friend Bunny. The trailer will definitely invoke comparisons to the hand-made/DIY animation of Michel Gondry, as well as the surreal and fantastical effects of the recent GENTLEMEN BRONCOS.

I’m completely charmed by what I’ve seen so far and, as a huge fan of “The Mighty Boosh,” I am definitely looking forward to this one.

BUNNY AND THE BULL made its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival and will screen at the London Film Festival later this month. A US release date has not been announced.
