Trailer for Jessica Alba-starring quirkfest AN INVISIBLE SIGN hits
Could a film be trying any harder to be quirky and charming?
That is the first question one will ask after sitting down and watching the newly released trailer (via The Playlist) for the new film, AN INVISBILE SIGN. Starring Jessica Alba, the film has absolutely everything a modern indie has, ranging from slightly upbeat singer/songwriter music playing in the background to the awkward man/woman romantic relationship.
Giving off tinges of something like the criminally underrated ADAM, the film stars Alba and actor Chris Messina, and follows a math teacher who must deal with her compulsive habits and a slowly mentally decaying father, as well as a burgeoning relationship with a fellow teacher.
Based on the Aimee Bender book of the same name, the film does have a really talented director in Marilyn Argrelo (MAD HOT BALLROOM) behind the camera, but with a script from WEDDING PLANNER duo Pamela Falk and Michael Ellis, there is a lot to be wanted from this trailer.
The film hits theaters on May 6, but is currently available on VOD.
