Who is the absolute last director you would expect, or for that matter chose, to make a make a film about the human genocide occurring in Darfur that has claimed the lives of more than 300,000 people? If you said anyone but Uwe Boll, please feel free to comment back with your suggestions. I am all ears.

In the film, American journalists covering the horrific events in the region of Sudan are faced with a moral plight. Do they return home to report the atrocities they've witnessed, hopefully stirring up change from overseas? Or do they stay and help the victims of the genocide and take a stand of their own, possibly causing immediate change? It is a question that journalists in war torn areas must face on a daily basis, many even giving their lives in choosing the latter.

Let us hope that Mr. Boll is capable of making an emotional, empathetic film on the delicate subject...despite the fact that there has never been a video game about it.

Check out the trailer for DARFUR - staring Billy Zane, Edward Furlong, and Kristanna Loken - after the jump. And, as our good friends at Film School Rejects point out, keep your eyes peeled for a certain grammatical error with the word "existence."

I read the tweet probably 10 times before I was sure it really said Uwe Boll. wow, what? So someone that is looking to make a change in the world also decided to use a pompous German tax shelter director to do so? How about Aron Gaudet?
