TWILIGHT to be the inspiration of new reality show
I’m pretty sure this is one of the signs of the apocalypse: greed, famine, reality shows based on shallow teenage vampires and werewolves. Read the Bible, it’s in there and it’s happening! Thankfully, the show isn’t going to be as outlandish as it sounds, since there are obviously no supernatural beings living among us, but producer Zig Gauthier is still gonna try to capitalize on the popularity that the TWILIGHT movies and books have brought to the sleepy town of Forks, Washington.
When describing the series, Gauthier explained that his goal was “to peel back another layer of the onion that is Forks and see what the real people there are like. We’re not going up there looking to cast people who have claims to the supernatural. We want people who have a true connection to the community. We want to avoid people with outlandish claims.”
No offense to Gauthier, but that sounds really boring. I have a hard time believing that Forks, WA is any more interesting than most towns in America. Having a fictional story about teenage love and angst won’t be enough to make me tune in, specially if the show is about normal people. I have a feeling that when he’s trying to sell the show to a network, some TV executive is going to ask him to add more scenes with depressed wannabe-vampire goth kids.
According to Jaunted, the production company is holding a casting call on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. “The casting call will take place at the Twilight Lounge at 81 North Forks Ave. [Tuesday]’s casting call starts at noon and ends by 4pm. On Wednesday interviews will run from 11am to 1pm.” So if you live in the area and you think you have what it takes to be the next Paris Hilton or Bella Swan, be there!
