    Joshua Jackson

Joshua Jackson has come a long way since stealing my heart in those MIGHTY DUCKS movies and “Dawson’s Creek.”  Currently, you can see him on FOX’s science fiction mystery show “Fringe” that airs on Thursday nights. As I’ve matured, my crush on Jackson has subsided, but I am still aware of his talent as an actor, so it comes as no surprise that he is generating a lot of buzz with his new television series and landing more complex roles.

Variety announced today that Jackson is making his way back to the big screen with UFO, a film about humans who are trying to survive after aliens take over Earth.

Jackson will play Paul Foster, a pilot who joins an organization called S.H.A.D.O, the Supreme Headquarters Alien Defense Organization. The organization helps to defend Earth against aliens that abduct humans and steal their body parts. The film is based on a British television series from the 1970s.

UFO will be directed by Matthew Gratzner, who is best known as a visual effects supervisor on films like IRON MAN. Gratzner says Jackson was chosen for his ability to show great range. “Character development is the most critical part of UFO, and Joshua’s terrific talent and range is exactly what I need to convey the inner conflict of the character of Paul Foster,” Gratzer said.
