UP gets some retro posters
Pixar has released eight awesome new posters for UP. They are done in a retro 1930s or 40s style, which you’ll be familiar with if you’ve see the film, since the movie begins with one of those old newsreels.
The posters were released in celebration of the movie coming out on DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday, the 10th of November. They look to be in the style of Eric Tan, who in the past has made some gorgeous retro posters for other Pixar movies. You can see more of his work on his blog. I’m not sure if he created these, but I wouldn’t be surprised considering the style and his history.
The main difference between these and the other posters he’s made for Pixar is that, although the other ones were fun to look at (WALL-E is a great example), these actually fit within the film’s story perfectly. See all eight posters below.
