I first met Scott & Michael back at SXSW in the lobby of a movie theater, where I was first able to tell them how much their film had meant to me in my own downfall of love and subsequent resurrection. After coming to know their personalities in real life, you see how their friendship and general outlook on life & love went to create the well-scribed humor, sadness and over lovable qualities that make (500) DAYS OF SUMMER the uniquely special film it is.
It is alway especially interesting to have the chance to sit down with the screenwriters of a film. Without them, the film would not exist...it is born our of their own mind, creativity and their real-life experiences. When the interview is for a film like this, that I feel I share a deep connection with, then it is especially satisfying. Please check out the interview with the guys, in which we sat down to discuss the realistic love & heartache of the (500) DAYS OF SUMMER, and in the process explored our own past experiences aka "the war stories of love."
